| 05.08.2019 – There’s a saying ‘Better Late than NEVER’ if you haven’t frequent the retail stores in Metro Manila chances are you haven’t noticed that the long awaited 2019 sets has finally arrived at your major retail stores and toy stores which has clearing old ones from dating back to 2015.
The news of course has been word of mouth behind the scenes that Ban Kee Trading has taken over local distribution rights to bring new LEGO® sets to the retail market that was previously held by LAJ Marketing since 2005. |
For the local LEGO® community this not news but for the causal parent or aspiring AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO®) this is something worth noting after the past 4-5 months that all stores that LAJ Marketing owned namely Hobbes & Landes, Build City, and all LEGO® Certified Stores has been clearing old stocks as high as 60% off which also claimed that some set where 80% but those were depending on the damage boxes that was rarely seen
They heavily marketed that ‘Everything Must Go’ since they’re no longer the sole distributor for the LEGO® brand. Amidst all that there was a silent launch for the new distributors to bring out the long awaited sets that were sighted at SM Mall of Asia inside The SM Store’s TK Express toy section.
There’s so much to take in for anyone has been waiting for the 2019 sets. But for those who are unfamiliar with the price ponts here are some sets tha you may find it interesting with the new pricing based from Ban Kee Trading:

At TK Express there were a lot of The LEGO® 2 sets as compared to the main Toy Kingdom store also in SM Mall of Asia. There are also new sets from Friends, Ninjago, and Technic with most of the Avengers Endgame and Spider Far From Home have already been available.
It’s surprising that the Avengers Endgame sets are not as what you expected given that they were released prior to the film as obvious misdirection to avoid spoilers, but since the Russo Brothers have lifted the banned spoilers on 6 May 2019 you’ll probably hoped LEGO® would produce a Fat Thor or aka “Melted Ice Cream” Thor in minifigures but then again that would be something.
For now if you happen to be this side of SM Mall of Asia you might check out the sets that’s available there are some interesting Creator and City sets that you might want to pick up. So far there have been interesting ones and it seems the price point is close to the ones online third-party sellers have than what the previous toy distributor has been pricing the LEGO® sets before.
