Hobbes & Landes | The Closure

Whenever an establishment or a LEGO® theme is announced for its last run or a store that will finally close its shop the signs point to “End to an Era” as the ever-changing business landscape continues to reel its effects post-pandemic and hurl toward the rise of interest rates things looks dire to start the year.

But that is the nature of things as nothing lives forever, and with the impending announcement that Hobbes and Landes will be closing its doors by the end of December 2021, some people will recall how this boutique store used to carry the LEGO® brand as an exclusive that no other retail store has.

06.04.2019 – LEGO® produce many themes for their brand that is allocated to age groups as being established early in the 1970s. Over the years the themes evolved with some being discontinued and there are some had re-introduced into different product keeping it relevant and fresh.

But in the Philippines when you talk about these types of major promos it has become sort of a habit that the only reason why they are going in clearance is for new stock to come in.Of course, if you’re in the Philippines this is the usual strategy and consumers mostly the collector’s mind they’ve marked the dates when you talk about clearance sales.

02.10.2019 – There have been five LEGO® Certified Stores in Metro Manila having some of the exclusive sets that are not available in other retail stores in the country.

You’ll be surprised to see some of the old sets that are discontinued or from the past few months, which is now on a discount sale as low as 50% percent off. But if you haven’t been passing by in this store you’ll get more than just one surprise that maybe you might be running to the nearest branch for some serious pick-up with the month long promo.

Toy Expo 2018 | 5 LEGO® Philippine Themes

08.24.2018 – Big LEGO events in the Philippines has become the norm since 2008. It has changed and evolved over the years when it comes to which community has been tied-up in collaboration of LAJ, the Philippines sole distributor for the LEGO brand.

For this year’s Toy Kingdom Toy Expo their presentation focus on Philippine culture as that is mostly people will get related to and with that AFOL Manila, the recently formed community has team-up with LAJ marketing to present this massive diorama display that you’ll find in the next three days at the SMX Convention Centre.

LEGO® Exhibit at Bonifacio High Street!

10.31.2014 – This could probably be an annual tradition at one of the local LEGO® stores at the Bonifactio High Street in Taguig as they have a diorama exhibit. It features The LEGO® Movie theme and some related to Star Wars.

But the centrepiece which catches most of the people passing by is the diorama featuring random sets that includes The LEGO® Movie and a lot more…

LEGO® Exhibit at BoniFacio High Street!

11.26.2013 – Once in a while a LEGO exhibit pops up with a wide range of current series and sets on display for a good photo souvenir. At the same time you get to see a mini LEGO store on the side for you to check out what’s new.

The LEGO exhibit at the Bonifacio High Street attracts quite the enthusiast. Mostly kids with parents checking out LEGO Friends for girls or LEGO Chima for boys.
