Mega Brands | Replacement Parts Policy

06.18.2019 – There’s a lot of products out there that is being produced by toy manufacturers out there, that chances are that you might end up buying one with a quality issue. This is one in a million that you end up with a defected product that these companies made sure they put warranty clause in each one.

With Mega Brands Inc, the parent company of Mega Bloks and their Mega Construx building toys make sure customer service is in place if there’s a chance that one customer might end up with product defect either it slipped past from their quality control or the aforementioned piece in the product is broken.

A few months ago acquiring a Mega Construx set featuring TMNT Mikey Stealth Tour Trike Set No. FFC54 that was on clearance at Toys R’ Us Glorietta for PhP 300.00 Philippine Pesos ($5.75 USD | $8.41 AUD | $7.72 CAD**), which was already a bargain as the series is on its tail end that was based on the animated series from 2012 and it is being cleared off from local TRU stores.

Unfortunately, this set has a quality issue with the one acquired and that is the micro figure itself. Michelangelo’s mask was broken off and plastic quality was no good. The only option either you spend another set for the same price or send a customer concern directly to Mega Brands if they can assist you with your concern.

Unexpected Mail Call

The report was filed two months earlier with no expectation if Mega Brands would address your concern knowing that this company is now owned by Mattel after acquiring it back three years ago there are no assurances that customer service would even assist you if you are based in Southeast Asia or in the Philippines for that matter.

But earlier today there was a Postal Claim Card that does not even identify if it was from Mega Brands as only details is the personal home address sent for the package. There was a process for the Philippine Post Office to let you claim the package unlike in other countries like Australia they send the package for you DIRECTLY to your mailbox than have to claim it at the said Postal Service.

Unfortunately, due to that in the Philippines Bureau of Customs Policy you still need to pay for the sum of PhP 112.00 Philippine Pesos ($2.15 USD | $3.14 AUD | $2.88 CAD**), which was unexplained at the claim receipt that was supposed to be paid already by Mega Brands in shipping the product.

Inside the Care Package

Upon opening the brown envelope with bubble wrap inside there was a letter from Mega Brands that they apologize for the quality issue with one of their products having a broken piece in the building kit upon purchase was unexpected.

The entire letter has been scanned for you to read about their concerns and they not only sent a replacement piece, but they actually sent an entirely new micro figure that came with the letter with the package direct from Montreal Canada.

Appreciative for Mega Brands for going above and beyond despite that arriving in the Philippines it still has to be paid to claim it at the Philippine Post Office. But Mega Brands need not worry, but just letting them informed mostly to collectors who buy their products in case encountering the same experience there will be fees applied when all replacement parts are sent to the Philippines even though they already paid for the shipping and handling.
