| In case you’ve been passing through Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong City you might happen to notice there is a ginormous signage that’s more than five levels up with a huge announcement that this shopping centre will have its very own LEGO® Certified store.
The LEGO® Certified Store (LCS) is a shop that mainly carries exclusive sets not available at retail outlets, and there are some interesting things that make it more unique than the conventional store that carries the brand. |
It has been a long time since the LCS has expanded to a brand new store in a more crowded vicinity. Most of the LCS shops in the Philippines are located where not much foot traffic has gone through. If you’re passionate about the LEGO® brand you’ll make the effort to travel to each store, and they have five locations within Metro Manila.
But this new store isn’t actually a new expansion, but rather an LCS that is relocating to a more crowded area that can be easily visited. There has been news from various sources and word of mouth that this store was the one located at the Ayala 30th Mall, which has been struggling to get visitors since the pandemic.
The new location would certainly promote the brand to a wider consumer, where some are unfamiliar with the brand’s exclusive sets that are not sold in the local retail. This LCS is solely focused on what the brand can offer besides the exclusive sets produced under the Ideas and Icon range of sets that are for 18 years or older that are preferably aimed at the Adult Fan of LEGO® (AFOL).
There are other perks and things that the LCS have, and some can be personalized and also offer to sell bricks & parts as well as customize a set of minifigures. They are just a few things a retail store doesn’t have an option, and this relocation would eventually help introduce the brand to new customers and would-be AFOLs.
The specific date was not announced, but surely, a series of mini-events would promote the upcoming opening of this new store. You can find the new location on the fourth level in the Shangri-La Mall annex because you won’t miss the colourful walls covering the store itself.
