LEGO® DOTS at TRU Greenbelt 5!

06.03.2020 – It has been more than two months since all non-essential stores have closed which includes retail shops inside the shopping centres that does not provide essential goods. It was a struggle with the pandemic that led to everyone staying indoors due to the mandatory quarantine.

Of course, the coronavirus still has no cure and yet the economy has been battered during the past months. But now the world is slowly easing back restrictions and retail shops like Toys R’ Us at Greenbelt 5 has opened since Monday.

With all that past two months of no access to any new LEGO® sets that were released though in some countries they have less restrictions for some to be able to buy some newly released themed sets. In the Philippines, the local distributor for the brand had to switch to online selling and delivery to avoid the spread of the virus.

The same goes with TRU with regard to buying toys they are now selling also online with delivery. But it’s still not the same as going to the store in this country a far contrast of a balance set up in Australia and other western countries. The changes on the set up for TRU show that there is less staff than what it used to be due to the restrictions in comparison to before.

This time it follows what the stores used to be in foreign countries as the number of staff has been reduced to a better compliment the size of the store. It’s good that they are following this template not because of the set up but due to the post-pandemic changes that made it a mandatory.

There are new sets at the Toys R’ Us store in Greenbelt 5 an off-location for some that most frequent the Glorietta branch that had more foot traffic than this store, which is considered a hole in a wall due to being remote to those who go to this posh side of a high end commercial district.

DOTS Awesome

For those who are unaware of this new theme that takes back to the discontinued sets that inspired it the LEGO® DOTS focus on the young girls as their target market. But in other countries it was a surprising that AFOLs have found a hook on this brand despite the wearable wrist brands are made for younger kids.

The colorful buildable and customizable wristbands have been sold out already in other countries due to their potential for creative ideas. The DOTS theme does not stop there as there are also sets too like a Pencil Holder, Jewelry Stand, and Picture Holders also seen in this store.

To expand your creativity you also need a pack of Extra Dots Series One, which is also available to compliment the wrist bands that come with 33 pieces of those colorful shapes of plates that you will find in five different themes. Besides the aforementioned DOTS there are some gems that were sighted in the store for those who are a ‘free builder’ that don’t follow a manual and just build their original creation these LEGO® Classic sets big and small will give you something exciting to put together while still in quarantine to pass the time or spend bonding with the family that you’ll find below:

There are interesting sets like Ninjago and other assortments, but nothing like a City set that sticks out like a sore thumb that was recently released as part of collaboration with National Geographic that combines putting together underwater exploration vehicles similar to the 2019 release of the Space theme that partnered with NASA for their spaceships and lunar rovers.

For this year LEGO® goes deep into the ocean with submersibles and unmanned underwater exploration vehicles. Though there was only one set sighted in this store it sure is eye catching with that bright yellow submersible along with underwater crew in their diving gear that appears that they came from space.

60264 Ocean Exploration Submarine | ₱2,999.75 Pesos| $58.19 AUD | $40.12 USD

Due to the limited time to check the other sets these so far that really caught some attention with their colorful bricks and due to some of the size of the boxes they are surely an interesting line that you might find the chance to pick of them up.
