LEGO® Creator 31004: Venomous Scorpion!

11.15.2015 – The third and final look at LEGO® 31004 Fierce Flyer set is the alternate build of the Venomous Scorpion. Out of the three this possibly the not-so favorite build due to not because of being a fierce predatory arachnid, but it separates itself from being as impressive as a Bald Eagle or a Beaver.

But the details on how it was put together can a bit of a challenging and at the same time as enjoyable to be look at how it came together.

Just like the main build which is the Fierce Flyer based on the Bald Eagle and the Beaver this Venomous Scorpion is based from a variation of the creature.

This version has eight legs and its main weapon is its poisonous tail, which had an articulated design that certainly will grow on you to be impressed regarding the elements used to put together.

Predatory Arachnid

The scorpion would be designated as a member of the arachnids, but are easily recognised by the pair of grasping pedipalps and the narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back, ending with a venomous stinger. It’s not exact a spider-like creature but a member of that particular family.

They have adapted to a wide range of environmental conditions and can now be found on all continents except Antarctica. Scorpion number about 1750 described species, with 13 extant families recognised to date.

Only about 25 of these species are known to have venom capable of killing a human being. The taxonomy has undergone changes and is likely to change further, as genetic studies are bringing forth new information.

Not-So Poisonous

The LEGO® pieces including the elements used to put together the Venomous Scorpion is roughly 105 parts. It consists of most of the joints that makes the wings and tail of the Fierce Flyer build.

Majority of the colors of the Venomous Scorpion is brown, a little bit of white and some yellow that can be seen as either a joint or the pieces that consist of the eight legs. The segmented tail is the one that has most joints and articulation is superb.

Overall this is the least favorite build among the three if you rank them the main build of the Fierce Flyer is the one everyone would get. This is due to that it is the one on the box followed by the alternate build of the Beaver.

There’s not much appreciation for the Venomous Scorpion but for those who look further the ingenuity of the parts used might give you a second opinion. This one is the most build that used a lot of joints and not sacrificing on the quality that make it genuine in appearance than the Beaver have.

“Venomous Scorpion” is an alternate build from the'Fierce Flyer' set 31004 3-in-1 Creator theme which was originally retailed at PhP 899.75 pesos which is now onm clearance at PhP 540.00 pesos in the Philippines.
