71020 Minifigures | Pool Batman & Vacation Joker
The LEGO® Batman Movie Series 2 minifigures expands this particular realm of the LEGO® Universe with more characters based from DC Comics as well as classic Super Friends Saturday Morning Cartoon from the late 1970s and 1980s.
Most of the roster from series 2 is populated with characters unrelated to Batman and there are twenty for you to collect. But if you’re a picky and not into completing a set you got some interesting characters that will be interesting enough to exist only in The LEGO® Batman Movie-verse.
So far here are two minifigures worthy of that spotlight to look forward to in case you haven’t had the time to check your local retail stores. Here are two characters that you might say an interesting reason why they are the “need” priority if you are not a hardcore into getting them all.
Swimming Pool Batman
In the LEGO® Batman Movie you can see the cap crusader in his Speedos, but not as a Lifeguard but there was a scene where you can see him in his black underwear. LEGO® had to include this in the second series as described as "Swimming Pool Batman" that included the rescue floaty that was first introduced as an element as an accessory by the Lifeguard in the Collectible Minifigures Series 12.
Batman on his Speedos is one minifigure you can use as addition to your ever growing Batman Collection. The Dolphin accessory is cool too if you’ve got owned one sea creature that completes the reason why this minifigure is a “need.” Imagine Batman swimming with a Dolphin is like Bruce Wayne can’t have in his Batcave.
Vacation Joker
This is the counterpart of the LEGO® Batman with a floaty that came with series one. But for the DC Comics fans who have known the Crown Prince of Crime in other iterations of this character this one is something special. If you haven’t read Batman: The Killing Joke, a graphic novel by Alan Moore (Co-Creator of The Watchmen) and Brian Bolland you should look it up.
LEGO® certainly made it sure you’ll not notice what was the Joker wearing in this minifigure underneath that neon green floaty. It’s actually the same exact clothes The Joker has worn in the pages of Batman: The Killing Joke, which is a landmark classic originally published in 1988 originally not connecting with the DC Universe until 2011 when the publishing company made it a canon for what happened to Batgirl.
The 1988 classic still stands as one of the most important Joker stories you should get to read not only for the reason this minifigure represents that character but its also sort of a tribute for those who have read this graphic novel.
Overall these two minifigures are definitely to pick up and the reason why LEGO® Batman is one of the licensed brands the Danish company should continue to expand. The Joker itself is the one that people should look into as “can-relate” to how it was adapted his appearance from the Killing Joke graphic novel. This was acquired at BigW in Armada Arndale for $4.75 AUD each.
