| 03.26.2018 – The LEGO® Ninjago Movie, based on the theme originally introduced to the brand in 2011 has come a long way. The theme has established itself with an animated series now with the movie from last years its still continues to be produced with new sets for 2018.
LEGO® produced a minifigure series based from the characters in the films. It’s slowly being sold out in some markets. There are great ones and then there is also the underrated minifigs that are left on the shelf like Gong with Rock Guitar! |
Gong with Rock Guitar is one of the twenty minifigures included in the series. Though the highlight on this series are the main characters there are also minor ones that madder it into the 3D animated film, but with minimal dialogue or not at all.
Most AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO®) would get the principle characters that made up Ninjago., but sometimes the minor characters are the ones that are actually interesting regardless of the accessories that comes with it. Gong in particular is not so highly noticed being made from previous hair piece and accessory.
Underrated Rock Star
This minifigure is made of pre-existing pieces like the hair piece from the Hippie Minifig from Series 7 and with his Rock Guitar also introduced from that same series. Gong has two facial expressions and had a cool tattoo print on his left arm.
Gong wears a red sleeveless shirt with a skull that has Japanese inscription above it. Like any punk rock star he wears very stylish tattered pants while rocking a pair of white boots that has a chain print on this minifigure’s leg.
Keeping it real
Overall Gong with Rock Guitar is that minifigure that needs a second look for being just simple character with an expressive face. The simplicity of this minifigure does not have enough affection to collectors, but he simply knows how to rock with his red guitar with the look that defines rock n’ roll.
