BxB Returns | Gathering in the Oasis

09.23.2018 – In the Philippines community gatherings are like festivals it has to be lively and attractive. It’s not your usual community gatherings where it’s just about the group in discussing what’s on the agenda or the next project that will be presented.

Every gathering has to be a party which this one was really held with this theme. PinoyLUG and BxB Trading Group host another successful gathering for their community in children’s party atmosphere as LEGO is for the kids and the young at heart its also takes a different approach in a family environment.

Communities like LEGO Users Groups are where they foster the individual members’ creativity and imagination. This also builds new relationship through its close tight knit environment hence the scaled down gatherings that used to be hosted in function halls of the hotel now more directly the families particular parents and their children.

The organizers try to change things up to continue its relevance in the ever growing community that are passionate about the LEGO brand. Though this time the sellers that participated are not in abundance you can clearly see how well organized this mini-event in sort of ‘going back to the basics’ of how a community should be, but with the flamboyant Filipino flavour.

There are room for improvements though it’s just needs a little tweak here and there adding up interesting monthly activities to keep things fresh. Usually these type of meetings are not held in community centres but in paid venue places for the reason there’s a fee at the door. But the organizers for this one make sure paying for the entrance is money’s worth since it was held at Jollibee the fee that you paid with comes with a complimentary meal which is good. The food choices though should be more desirable if there were other options but this one will do.

Exhibits though not as spectacularly outrageous it gives you an idea that the theme and the return of the BxB gatherings work the way it was marketed. The diorama set up in one side with a long table was as impressive as the one The Stacks from Ready Player One was well presented. Its more like the variation of the habitats but with the inspiration based from the novel and film with interesting characters from LEGO’s wide range of minifigures and other licensed properties populated this place.

The event is as lively as the people in them its activities too have been not limited to auctions and raffles but tries to be more geared to the family bonding of parent and child with the speed builds. This activity will expand for the next one and if you’re not reading it clearly this is just the first part of the monthly gatherings that sets up the upcoming Bricktober that will be official announced soon.

Overall look for the BxB gathering has been great in the past. This one takes small scale to new heights in keeping with the community consistent in staying relevant no matter big or small the meetings are. It’s also about getting intimate with the members and its other visitors who have participated. This is just the beginning and the fun doesn’t start until the next BxB happens which will lead to Bricktober 2018.
