Brick Traders' Club | Haven for LEGO® Enthusiast
BTC stands for Bricks Traders’ Club, which has started to organize monthly selling events since as early as March 2018 and they’ve been selling affordable LEGO® even before they started their monthly events of their own. But the story behind online e sellers starts to import their products dates back even further though the history may be sometimes confusing as they say history can tell where it really all began.
For those parents who are looking for affordable LEGO® branded construction toys this monthly might be the one you should made the visit. For pricing and among other things it depends on the vendor as they have the right to set how much a minifigure or set cost as exploring this place is well enough a treasure trove of parts and elements one can’t say there’s no such place but here it is.
Diverse Like-Minded Sellers
If Hong Kong has a building dedicated to selling LEGO® and other branded bricks the BTC is a monthly one-day selling event that is held at the Promenade in Greenhills Shopping Centre with an entrance fee for you to see what they have in store that you may not find on retail.
Free for Children below 10 Years Old
The event may appear to cater to an Adult Fan Of LEGO® (AFOL) it is certainly a family oriented affair its just so happens that most customers who pay the entrance fee of PhP 100.00 pesos ($2.50 AUD) to get inside are collectors. It might be with the cultural thing as LEGO® is expensive that makes families who earn minimum wage won’t dare go inside to check what this event has to offer, but kids below 10 years old can enter without paying the fee.
Parts, Elements, and More
The LEGO® Certified stores in the Philippines may have the parts you need but they’re not as complete as you may think. At BTC some vendors offer the benefit for acquiring parts and elements, and also accessories for your minifigures. Besides that you can acquire the minifigure you need they also let you accessorize some of them. Of course, for the MOC builders this is a haven to get the necessary elements and parts for their future projects which is a good place to swing by.
Selling Oriented to be expected
Now the unpopular part of the monthly BTC gathering is the displays. Some might get caught up with false advertising. There’s nothing wrong about promoting one event is just that the hook there is how you capture your market. The cool graphic depicted to promote the event says they have a theme for the month, which features a Classic Spaceman on the poster. It would be great if they just advertise what the event is, but to build expectation that it didn’t show enough themes to merit what it was.
The display area feature some space related display in the early part of the day and THE only actual space related theme depicted two dead Classic Spacemen found on the surface of the planet with their ship crashed. Its like saying Classic Space theme is dead, but in South Australia about almost a month ago there was a BETTER display by Jason Wandel in South Australia that this theme during Hybrid World Adelaide that continues to be as popular as what some might say is dead.
It must be the accessibility for the parts and themes for the reason the person who owned the set who had a space theme display didn’t get the notice how big Classic Space is known for. But knowing this event WAS a selling related gathering the displays can be random just that maybe BTC should refrain from pretending to be an event that is focused on the Classic themed display just rather put a “Show and Tell” display instead that frees up ideas for everyone to share.
Event Verdict and Feedback
Overall Bricks Traders’ Club (BTC) is a great way to present everyone with an alternative to buy less expensive LEGO® from retail stores, but also makes it like the event is for collectors only barring not knowing how to market it for random families looking for start interest with the LEGO® brand. It is also understandable that they need to pay for the venue’s rent hence the entrance fee.
But the marketing for an event like this should not put itself to make others think that there is an event themed display for Classic Space, which turns out to be a false advertising for those who are really into this discontinued theme as what their marketing poster had said, which turns out to be nothing but a “hook-line-and-sinker” to entice random individuals to check out the event which shows their marketing strategy needs to be improved.
Everything else is a good alternative to get the parts, elements, and other things related to the LEGO® brand that is worth checking.
