LEGO® Super Heroes: Groot & Rocket Raccoon Build at SDCC 2014!

08.01.2014 – Are you anticipating to see Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy in the big screen this weekend? In case you have missed going to the recently concluded Comic-Con International in San Diego (aka SDCC) there’s something for long time fans and new ones to see Groot and Rocket Raccoon. A team of LEGO® builders and experts put together this cool full scale statue of the two heroes.


During the preview night for the recently concluded San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) the team who put together this LEGO® version of Groot and Rocket Raccoon took them 300 hours, 80 builders and 29,967 (as last count in based in the video) bricks shot in time lapse video on how this statue came to be, which was seen by hundred of visitors during the four day event that has been posted in the social media.

Groot the plant-like humanoid co created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee which was voiced by Vin Diesel in the live action film would possibly one of the two favorites in the team. The other Rocket Raccoon co-created by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen who appeared in Marvel Preview #7 in the summer of 1976 will be voiced by Bradley Cooper.

Below is the time-lapse video how the characters where put together by the team at LEGO® and it’s definitely something to have a photo with before or after seeing the film.



“Guardians of the Galaxy” is now showing in Philippine cinemas from Marvel and Walt Disney Studios locally distributed by Columbia Pictures. LEGO Superheroes has released sets related to the film check them out at" LEGO®Shop.com
