LEGO® Creator 31079 | Lifeguard Tower

04.20.2018 – Building the LEGO® Creator Sunshine Surfer Van was both exciting at the same time challenging for any novice builder or with the kids age range. It’s well detailed and had its own narrative to tell when putting it together for the first time.

But what if you take it apart and rebuilt it for the secondary build? It changes the idea of what the Sunshine Surfer Van was trying to convey. Unlike the Space Shuttle Explorer that explains it back story this one gives you adventures of two minifigures besides hanging out and catching up the waves…

The story now shift to how to people manage a Lifeguard Tower after experiencing the sun, sea, and surf adventures. Obviously they’re not entirely like trained for the job and more casual about the beach trip. But then again it’s everyone’s imagination how they would represent the second build and how they end up managing it.

It’s up to the builder how to put the back story from this after dismantling the primary build of the set namely the Sunshine Surfer Van. The two friends manage to enjoy the beach trip and decided to enlist as reserve lifeguards to further enjoy this experience.

Not-so Towering Lifeguard

In all the 3-in-1 build for the LEGO® Creator 31079 this build was mediocre and takes fewer pieces to build the second structure. From building a well detailed van that let’s you enjoy the sun to a quaint Lifeguard Tower that uses most of the plates that make up the primary set build.

It has a watch tower that had no door access and a chair where a lifeguard sits. This is one usual build that you though it would be detailed and appears big in the box packaging. But you’d be slightly disappointed why this build was less favourable.

Bae-watcher by the Sea Shore

The Lifeguard Tower may not be the most exciting structure to build, but it holds up through to the details in putting this together. Having all the plates that made up parts of the Sunshine Surfer Van this one tries to make you enjoy putting it together.

Besides the tower you got the ATV that seemed out of the ordinary that it uses the wheels of the van. It’s simple but a good build for the girl minifigure companion to rev up the sand dunes of Glenelg Beach. Though it doesn’t entirely appear as what you expect it still a good companion build beside the Lifeguard Tower patrolling the beaches for anyone in need of help.

NEXT: Dune Buggy!

“Lifeguard Tower” is the secondary build from the Sunshine Surfer Van set 31079 3-in-1 Creator theme, which was released in early 2018 acquired at Big W in Cumberland Park for $23.20 AU Dollars (originally retails at $39.00 AUD in Big W and Target, while sold at Kmart for $29.00 AUD) during the Special Easter Weekend Holiday Sale that ran from March 28 to April 4, 2018.

Overall build the Lifeguard Tower along with the Quad ATV is mediocre the least favorite in the 3-in-1 build for the LEGO® Creator Sunshine Surfer Van. Entirely this set won’t get sold out if not for its primary build and the rest are just additional plus that you would want in your list for this year.

Acknowledgents to McDonald's in Morphett road where the build and documentary of this review was made.
