LEGO® City | Police Starter Set
This would probably be something in the LEGO City, and the brand has offered some ‘Starter Sets’ in the past, but for the LEGO Juniors with the quick build pieces accompanied by simple and yet understandable instructions is an invitation to a novice builder with this particular set.
This ‘Starter Set’ would be from the LEGO City-themed more about the ‘Cops ’n Robbers’ concept, and this brings the spotlight on a particular ‘Starter Set,’ which features two Police Officers with their K-9 Unit that shows a little bit of story about two ‘robbers’ trying to steal money from an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) unit.
Bank Heist Gone to the Dog
The set contains 80 pieces some of which have larger parts that are easily put together since this set is an interesting theme for kids under ages 5-12 years old. This set includes a male and female Police Officer with their daring K-9 unit, their furry friend. Of course, the story won’t be interesting if it did not include two thieves who will break into the ATM unit.
The packaging is pretty much telling the story, and that gets interesting with this quick build set. There are pieces for the special unit, and the money dispensing machine. The vehicle in the image shows how way basic it appears and it is quite easy to build for kids who like their LEGO City.
The Police Squad
You build the vehicle and the ATM, and you get four minifigures with a K-9 unit it’s already a fun story to put together that an AFOL can build this in less than 15 minutes. There’s no oversimplifying that instructions are straightforward in getting the vehicle built, while the ATM unit that the thieves are trying to break was just brilliant to feature a gimmick.
But first, get to know the two Police officers with the handcuffs and police radio with their furry K-9 companion that can ride at the back of the vehicle, one drives seated while the other can either chase the baddies on foot or ride standing up at the back. The thieves have a jackhammer and an empty loot bag for the money that they are going to steal from the ATM unit.
Breakaway Machine
The ATM unit that has money in it was a simple build, but the scene stealing-piece of creation from this set. It has a breakaway gimmick that is made to be damaged by the jackhammer that the female thief has while her accomplice aside from the empty loot bag for the money to be stored has also a dynamite accessory.
It is a fun little set that lets you find interest in the Police subtheme in the LEGO City, which is very much populated by various Police sets and vehicles for the 2017/2018 catalog. The minifigures were the hook for the set for the younger kids, but for AFOLs, the best part was the sets that you build with the notable ATM unit with a nice touch of getting damaged.
Overall, this was a cool little set that might not have it all though it still has its own story for you to tell once you build the vehicle and the ATM unit along with the minifigures included. This was fun to put together if you are the kind of individual who doesn’t have high expectation but enjoy the simple builds that LEGO always do since introducing the LEGO Town System as far back as the late 1970s.
