LEGO® City | Barbecue Burn Out

The summer season in the Asian region that includes the Philippines is considered a “Fire Prevention” month, which is mainly rolled in as an essential reminder in the last week of February to the early days of March. With that said, most of the rescue responders are called into action with this reminder.

In the world of LEGO® City, there are sets that would teach young children about educating fire prevention and get to build kits or sets that would inspire them to become responsible about the dangers of fire.

LEGO® City | Wildlife Rescue Hovercraft

LEGO® City is an ever evolving and the longest running theme for the Danish brand. From the Town System as far back in 1979, which featured the modern minifigure that has grown to adapt and take inspiration in the real world.

With countless sub-themes with the LEGO® City there’s more room to evolved, and with the addition of wildlife that introduced animals big and small chances are there are also some sets that are “taste testers” to those who haven’t had a set based on this particular series that’s based on the featured animals.

Rebuild LEGO® | Space Moon Buggy

LEGO® has been familiar with so many things related to real world space exploration inspiring its own theme beginning in 1978 that forever have its cult following despite that it originally was discontinued in the early 1990s. But it never stopped the Danish company to continue to produce countless space themed sets to their City theme.

To this day, there have been several sets that inspired by NASA with its future concepts on space exploration, which had its most recent theme for 2019.

LEGO® City Nat Geo at TRU in Robinsons Magnolia!

06.05.2020 – The summer season is almost done in the Philippines but in other countries it might be winter or in North America, which is the start of the later mentioned season. With that new sets for the second quarter of 2020 at the same time the previous sets released early this year becomes special offers or sale in most countries.

If you haven’t caught up with the recent ‘new arrivals’ they slowly start to appear on retail stores in Metro Manila. Outside of that there’s no news but you can inquire directly with Ban Kee Bricks for that.

03.13.2020 – Summer season has finally arrived in the Philippines despite the climate changes in the weather with a little bit of rain the heat is certainly on and when the temperature rises it shows many locals would find ways to stay cool. Of course, simple things like having a cold icy treat is definitely good.

Sometimes let the ice cream comes to you in the form of an Ice Cream Truck ready to bring in all the cool icy goodness to beat the sweltering heat. LEGO® introduces a new addition to the ever expanding food truck theme with this Ice Cream Truck!

LEGO® City | Fire Chief

03.11.2020 – The Fire Prevention Month of March is being observed in the Philippines. It is the perfect time to discuss and raise awareness about the causes, hazards, and dangers of fire. It’s not only in the city but throughout the country including remote areas, which is also a good time to spotlight a LEGO® set.

This LEGO® set is none other than the Fire Chief and his trusty off-road buggy set no. 30010, which is an impulse pack that was originally released in selected markets back in 2010. Even though this set is almost a decade it’s a reminder about fire prevention.

01.06.2020 – The start of the year looks to be a challenging one for Australians as bushfires have started to go uncontrollably. It should raise awareness all over the state and also to the rest of the world that everyone should be ready when it happens.

LEGO® has been producing sets inspired by real world emergency responders it inspire young kids and inspire those who would be ready to volunteer. With that LEGO® has recently produced its latest iteration of what bushfire fighters should be equipped with and that is the Fire ATV!

Fun Con 2019 | LEGO® City Experience

08.03.2019 – Opening day at Fun Con brings A LOT of first look at the LEGO brand presented by Ban Kee toys taking over from previous distributor since 2006. You get to see not only the promotion of the LEGO CITY theme as the forefront of the exhibit but also the exclusive sets that you can only find at a LEGO Store.

This event launches three main sets that they have been promoting prior to the event namely the LEGO Idea Steamboat Willy, Creator Expert featuring the Apollo 11 lander module and a special LEGO set featuring Stranger Things.

LEGO® City | Rover Testing Drive

07.02.2019 – This year LEGO® City brings back the Space subtheme that inspire young minds about dreaming of becoming astronauts and explorations in deep space. The theme has been part of the brand since the introduction of the minifigure in 1979 as a separate theme until in the late 2000s.

The Space subtheme for 2019 introduces sets that inspire real world space vehicles and orbital station in collaboration with NASA. These LEGO® sets have already landed in Manila and taking a spotlight is Testing Rover Drive!

06.01.2019 – If you’re into science fiction and space exploration chances are you grew up own one or two sets of the Classic LEGO® Space, which you won’t notice that is celebrating its 40th anniversary. But it has been a while since there was a space theme set that had an impact on the brand.

But this year LEGO® is sort of brining back a space theme although this time it is part of the LEGO® City subline that also celebrating the 50th anniversary landing of Man to the Moon with the Mars Exploration that has arrived in Manila.

05.08.2018 – LEGO has produced countless iterations and variations of Police units from motorcycles, squad cars, and many more. Of course, it has to be relevant to modern times adding a little bit of fictional adventures to the storytelling.

Of course, they also have to factor in producing a kit that is a ‘Starter Set’ for Children who would be interested in a certain theme. It could be anything from the LEGO brand, and usually, kids being kids would like something that they might have seen in the streets.

Toyworld Australia | Mini LEGO® Store

02.24.2018 – LEGO® Certified Stores has started appearing in countries, but in Australia it is a slow process despite having a Satellite Store in Melbourne, where your sets come from after purchasing them through LEGO.com and AFOLs are still hoping there will be a LEGO® Store somewhere in Australia someday. For now in South Australia in the heart of Adelaide Toy World Australia have a little of that.

Recent renovations at Toy World Australia has started with new changes around the shop with the LEGO® section having a major makeover.

LEGO® City 2014 PH Sightings!

02.17.2014 – There’s new LEGO® sightings yesterday which is from the City sets, that has been available in some parts of Asia. These where first seen in Adelaide, Australia which includes the 60057 Camper Van set as part of the Great Vehicle range.

The new sets can be found in most retail stores in Metro Manila. Particularly in all Build City and TRU stores. The most basic goes for PhP 799.75 pesos while the biggest one which is the Airport Firetruck with European design is at PhP 1,299.75 pesos..
