LEGO® City | Barbecue Burn Out

The summer season in the Asian region that includes the Philippines is considered a “Fire Prevention” month, which is mainly rolled in as an essential reminder in the last week of February to the early days of March. With that said, most of the rescue responders are called into action with this reminder. In the world of LEGO® City, there are sets that would teach young children about educating fire prevention and get to build kits or sets that would inspire them to become responsible about the dangers of fire.

It’s not only in the city but throughout the country including remote areas, which is also a good time to spotlight a LEGO® set. This LEGO® set is none other than the Fire Chief and his trusty off-road buggy set no. 30010, which is an impulse pack that was originally released in selected markets back in 2010. Even though this set is almost a decade it’s a reminder about fire prevention.

07.02.2019 – This year LEGO® City brings back the Space subtheme that inspire young minds about dreaming of becoming astronauts and explorations in deep space. The theme has been part of the brand since the introduction of the minifigure in 1979 as a separate theme until in the late 2000s. The Space subtheme for 2019 introduces sets that inspire real world space vehicles and orbital station in collaboration with NASA. These LEGO® sets have already landed in Manila and taking a spotlight is Testing Rover Drive!

05.24.2018 – LEGO® continues to expand their license themes not only from properties based from comic books, movies, television, animation, videogames and other things from popular culture but also real world car brands. This is where the Speed Champions have introduced motorsport. The Speed Champions theme has been around since 2015, but most of the cars introduced are from the racing circuit. This will be probably the first to introduced cars from the World Rally Championship with the Ford Fiesta M-Sport WRC.

05.18.2018 – The 1968 Mustang Fastback is an iconic car for Ford Motors Corporation. It’s identified as one of the first generation Mustang but with sportier in appearance besides reaching pop culture status when it was featured in Steve McQueen’s Bullitt. LEGO has the Speed Champions theme and features mostly circuit cars of the up market ones that you hardly see in the streets. This is the not the first time that LEGO has produced a Mustang as a set, but knowing Ford known as one of the everyday car it has its own heritage with its classic Mustang GT Fastback.

Of course, it has to be relevant to modern times adding a little bit of fictional adventures to the storytelling.
