MIAS 2022 | LEGO® Build the Thrills

LEGO® Builds is an exciting journey, and a process in putting together a kit or model into something you hoped for.

With the brand, LEGO® pushes forward with innovation and develop skills for young minds who find the curiosity to inspire future engineers, developers, and even designers that is something of an achievement.

This is their first public participation in a bigger event such as the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

This event has been around since the early 2000s to bring LEGO® sets on exhibit featuring licensed vehicles from well-known automobile companies is a bucket list. LEGO® as a brand is not known for being seen in major public event like the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), but with collaboration with Jeep Philippines and Italian scooter manufacturer, Vespa, it gives the toy brand a new space for the general public to see that they’re more than relevant to capture an audience that rarely get lost in local retail stores.

Promoting the theme “Build the Thrills” in turn shedding the spotlight on LEGO® produced kits that features vehicles like two-wheels, trikes, and four-wheels that are also licensed cars and trucks from their Creator 3 in 1, City, Speed Champions, and Technic themed sets that let you build these impressive models that is surely thrilling than ever, all the more the complicated ones with even working engines and suspensions.

Though not all the models from various themes were on display, LEGO® kits that were at the event are from Speed Champions and Technic can be seen in their acrylic displays while the Vespa (not in photo) can be found at the Vespa exhibit inside the event’s main exhibit hall.

This LEGO® exhibit can easily be seen at the lounge area before entering the main exhibit floor featuring some of their real world counterparts being launched on the very first day of the event. Featured models are from the 2021/2022 series from above mentioned themes already built to find your curiosity to own one and put it together.

But what’s the main attraction is the larger brick built model in front of the LEGO® exhibit is the Ferrari 512 M, which has 78,496 bricks weighing at 280 kilograms that was built for 480 hours (20 Days, not counting the breaks when this was put together) by the LEGO® Designers and Builders. It’s not exactly 1:1 from the real world Ferrari 512 M as how it was being promoted in local newspapers and news sites, though it is still worth taking a closer look.

It’s the LEGO® models that are worth looking at that caters to all demographics depending on the kits ranging from simple builds from Speed Champions to the elaborate but challenging and complicated kits from Technic that shows how they work. Also, the Vespa model that’s on display (if you find it in this event) will surely get you into LEGO® with that real world aesthetics since the set is for geared for Adults or AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO®) if you want to really get technical.
