HW Experimotors | Custom Small Block

Hot Wheels is not associated with Construction Toys, but for those not updated that their parent company is Mattel which now owns Mega Brands (formerly Mega Bloks) since 2014. But Mattel’s Hot Wheels did introduce a die-cast car that has studs in them the year before in the form of the Fig Rig truck.

After so many variations of the die-cast cars that let you put a Mega Bloks figure or a LEGO Minifigure, They finally produced a die-cast car that you can be able to swap parts using studs built-in to the cars’ plastic chassis!

Toy Fair 2016 | Mega Bloks Star Trek

02.14.2016 – Following the teaser images that featured the USS Enterprise, Mega Bloks revealed some more interesting sets for their upcoming toy line of construction toys.

Due to less interest for the KRE-O produced ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ sets, Mega Bloks is now taking the helm for the Star Trek franchise to a whole new creative building...

Sighting News: Mega Bloks at TRU The Fort!

11.23.2015 – Sometimes the best places to go find hidden gems for Mega Bloks are the ones that are off the way. Mostly stores that are like ‘Hole in the Wall’ type places that you don’t normally go.

In the age of social media preferably in Facebook Groups most don’t mention those types of places, but even though those place doesn’t have much its a good place to start looking.

11.19.2015 –Another toy sale news is up for those who are set for early Holiday shopping as Toys R’ Us is having one at the Glorietta Activity Center starting Thursday of November 19 to Sunday of the 22nd.

Sighting News: Mega Bloks at TRU Toy Box!

11.16.2015 – There have been no new sets or blind-bagged packs from Mega Bloks other than the new troop packs that are slowly being stocked at store in Metro Manila. Most of these troop packs are from the Halo series that continues to expand.

But for those just fairly new the 9th series known as the Charlie packs are still on stock you just know where to look and as mentioned these where sighted recently…

Toy Kingdom Warehouse Sale Sightings!

11.10.2015 – Over the weekend that started Friday was the annual Toy Kingdom Warehouse Sale on its 9th year. Its an early Christmas shopping for everyone and it’s the right place to pick up a present for this Holiday season.

The coverage was taken on the last day with some interesting sights featuring Building/Construction toy brands that certainly eye catching.

11.09.2015 – It’s rare that you’ll ever find something new from Mega Bloks in the Philippines. But when news gets out it’s probably the biggest spectacle for a very small community who are into these set themes.

The updates are slow but when there are new stuff out there it’s a hunt they will go as new Mega Bloks seen a few days earlier there are a few notable stuff seen too.

Mega Bloks CHARLIE Sightings!

10.27.2015 – Mega Bloks Halo Series has expanded its sets since introducing also the blind bags that currently have the 9th wave featuring the Charlie Series. Its rarely that if you’re just started looking for them its probably too late to complete them.

But if you look harder you’ll still find them in very few Toys R’ Us stores and there was only a few that was sighted earlier today…

Mega Bloks Despicable ME: Fire Rescue Minions!

10.19.2015 – Before the Minions became a blockbuster with their spinoff they first stole most of the scenes in Despicable ME 2. The sequel was all about a former villain becoming a father to three little girls and some Minions.

Some of the best scenes in that particular animated film where adapted in playsets, and when Mega Bloks acquired the rights to produce these sets it was instant golden. It seemed one scene is destined to stay in your memory like the Fire Rescue Pack!

Mega Bloks HALO Sale Sighting!

10.11.2015 – It’s a season for clearance and in the Philippines whenever the Holiday season is just around the corner most of the toys for the past two years ends up on sale. This is in the case of building toy brands like KRE-O, LEGO®, & Mega Bloks.

In the past these brands rarely do go out and announce a clearance sale. LEGO® is rarely associated with the word “Sale” unlike what Mega Bloks have right now.

09.28.2015 – Little is known about the videogame franchise in HALO, but for the hardcore gamer its one of the well-known properties that gave Mega Bloks the household name. It’s a first person shooting game that has a story of its own.

It had a rich history that for casual and non-gamers it might be too much to catch on. But for Mega Bloks its simple you start with one it will evolve and immerse yourself in this world with even bigger sets to build. But start small with a UNSC Mongoose.

HW Surf Patrol 74 of 250: Pedal Driver!

09.23.2015 – There have been diecast cars that Hot Wheels has recently produced for the LEGO® minifigure to ride on. Though they are not entirely buildable or construction-based toys they have studs and handles bars for them to interact.

You’ve got the Fig Rig and Let’s Go kart that can also have KRE-O figures that can ride too. But before Mattel had acquired the Mega Brands, which is the mother company of Mega Bloks they’re incompatible until the Pedal Driver was released.

Mega Bloks Minions: Bob with Tim!

09.21.2015 – The Minions are a fund bunch of little men serving under Gru, but that all changed during the course of the “Despicable ME” animated films. A third one is in the works though after the hit spinoff.

The popularity of these yellow banana-crazed dudes has produced Happy Meal toys, action figures, and Mega Bloks minifigs, which are rarely available packed in sets. The blind bags series however has been unavailable in the Philippines…

Mega Bloks Toy Photography Contest Announced!

09.15.2015 – Mega Bloks has been the second most popular brand in the Philippines right now having owned the rights to produce construction sets for Assasins Creed, Call of Duty, Halo, Minions, and SpongeBob SquarePants just to name a few.

It’s locally distributed by Richwell Club and has a huge following among builders and collectors that a community has been thriving this past year. Now that particular community is teaming up for a Toy Photography Contest at Collecticon 2015!

09.11.2015 – Lately there’s nothing much new to Mega Bloks Call of Duty, which is quite a hit line of construction toys from Mega Brands Inc. The micro figure sets have been sold out they only have are mostly Zombie sets.

Toy Kingdom's flagship store in SM Megamall have a full stock of COD sets, and there's a new set sighted the other day that you might be interested.

HW Race Team 126 of 250: Let's Go!

09.09.2015 – Lately if you haven’t seen Hot Wheels cars built for Minifigures then you must have been missing something. Hot Wheels have already produced three diecast cars dedicated for most construction toy brands like LEGO® and KRE-O.

But not entirely made for Mattel’s recently acquired Mega Brands that produce Mega Bloks sets and micro figures (same scale with LEGO® minifigs). “Let’s Go” is one of the diecast cars produced by Hot Wheels and it’s already on its 4th variant in white!

Mega Bloks Minions: Kevin!

09.07.2015 – The Minions are now iconic superstars on their right. Having appeared in “Despicable ME” animated films, featured in selected Universal theme parks, and appeared in countless shorts included in the home release they certainly ruled.

The yellow banana-obsessed men also broke the records in “The Minions” their spin off movie. Now they are in block form courtesy of Mega Bloks, which is still a rarity in the Philippines, where blind bags have not arrived and one of those minifigs would be Kevin!

09.05.2015 – The Minions movie has been breaking box offices all over the world, and still the Philippines doesn’t have enough of the Mega Bloks toys that preceded by this film. But slowly the local distributor is catching up on the little yellow guys.

Just in case you haven’t been going around Toy Kingdom you might spot two new sets featuring one Minion depicted in a particular scene in the movie...

HW Race 165 of 250: Let's Go!

08.18.2014 – For those who haven’t been reading up the news lately, that Mattel the parent company which owns Barbie and Hot Wheels as wells as iconic licensing rights for Masters of the Universe has acquired the Mega Brands.

The Canadian based company is the parent company, which manufactures the Mega Bloks construction toys. Mattel’s Hot Wheels just recently released the “Let’s Go” kart, which is actually made for their Hot Wheels micro figure.

MEGA® BLOKS Call of Duty Sightings!

02.05.2014 – Call of Duty is a popular first person and third person videogame shooting franchise. It was first released for the PC and then followed to game consoles and handheld games. There were several spin-offs expanding the franchise to what is now one of the well-known shooting games in this era.

The popularity of this game which was produced by Activision expands to merchandise like action figures, card games and of course construction toys manufactured by Mega Brands Inc., which is the parent company that produces MEGA BLOKS.
